The Forest: Scavenging What Remains (Part 2)

Tennis Balls Suck

Okay… I have some good news and bad news.

Good news, I found myself an axe.

Bad new, the stewardess is dead.

Now before you freak out, no I did not – I stress DID NOT – kill the stewardess. The best I can come up with is the emergency axe came loose during the flight and lodged itself in her chest.

I guess I won’t be axing her what happened…

Too soon? Yeah… too soon…

Anyways, I looked around the crash site in hopes that maybe my son was wandering around but it appears my worst fears have come true.

Nudists have taken my child.

Asides from my worst fears being realized I broken open some of the suitcases laying about and found supplies. Cloth, snack bars, alcohol, and money. If I was in Vegas I’d be having a blast right now.

Oh, and note to future self – if you ever go on a plane again don’t pack freaking tennis balls. They are useless!

How the heck am I going to survive on tennis balls!?

The Forest: My Plane Crashed & Timmy’s Gone

The Crash

Gah, my head’s killing me. I know there is a better time to be writing this but I don’t want to forget anything that’s happened in case it comes in handy later during the lawsuit.

My son – Timmy (his mother named him not me… I wanted Inigo Montoya… but she said no) – and I (James) were traveling to visit family in Vancouver (Canada) when the plane hit turbulence and was torn apart. I blacked out from what I’m guess was sudden decompression and woke up in a haze… at least I think I woke up… maybe I was dreaming…

Anyways, I believe I woke up to some naked guy with red body paint looming over me and my son. I couldn’t do anything… I… I think he was taken – Timmy not body paint guy.

I blacked out again and woke up some time later to birds chirping. I was laying in the aisle of the plane. I ate the open plane food and took some mystery meds. Honestly… didn’t read the label and don’t care what the side-effects are now that my head doesn’t feel like a freaking drum.

Lucky me, my backpack stayed under the seat so I have my notebook and picture of my son. I’ll scavenge what I can from this mess and hopefully find something that will tell me where I am… if not… I don’t know what I’m going to do.

30 Day Writing Challenge: Day 5

List Five Places You Want to Visit

I love London.

Let it be because of Doctor Who or Sherlock… or the fact most of the fiction I read takes place in that ancient city… or the accents are to die for… I just love London. I have plenty of friends from Canada who travelled over there to teach, and if my luck was better I’d be over there with them. Unfortunately there was drama over the passed two years and life stuff here in Canada that kept me from going. One day, though, I will travel overseas and see my friends both from Canada and from the UK. It is on my bucket list.

Imagine a 14-year-old me. I’m listening to J-Pop on my SanDisc, wearing my Pokemon sweatshirt, and reading my Bleach manga at the lunch table. At home I have a wall dedicated to InuYasha and have all of Hayao Miyazaki (Studio Ghibli) films. Also imagine me learning how to speak Japanese through linguist tapes because there was no such thing as YouTube Language Courses. People in my classes made fun of people like me because anime was nerdy. That was before being a nerd was considered cool.

Yeah… I was obsessed with Japanese culture. I lived, breathed, ate, slept, dressed for Japan. My wardrobe was Japanese inspired. Pocky wasn’t mainstream… actually Pokemon, Sailor Moon, and Dragon Ball Z were the popular anime at the time. I was watching InuYasha, Ghost in the Shell, Witch Hunter Robin, and Gundam Wing & Gundam Seed before people knew what they were…

I was a Japanese/ Anime Hipster.

So, yeah… why haven’t I gone to Japan yet? Money and time… I need both to go to Japan… and I don’t have either. 😛

British Colombia

My parents used to tell me, “Why travel the world when you haven’t seen your own backyard?”

BC is one of the places in Canada I want to see and haven’t seen. I’ve explored most of eastern and central Canada… not western Canada. There are family and friends I want to meet up with. There is plenty of outdoor activities, and my camera would be happy to get some use again.

Where did my love for Celtic culture come from? Where did my inspiration for my book series come from? That’s right the Maritimes.

One of the first road trips I remember taking with my parents was through New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and PEI. I fell in love with the music, the people, and the ocean. I saw Fortress Louisbourg, Queen’s Landing, and Basinhead Beach. My childhood summers for four years were made up of learning about Canadian history and swimming in the Atlantic Ocean.

The only place my parents never took me was Halifax… so I need to go there to check it off my list.

Northwest Territories

I hate the cold and the only reason I want to go there is for the Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights). They are supposed to be amazing.

Also the landscape is supposed to be a sight to behold.
