Book Two Is Out And It Wasn’t Without Its Challenges

Hello World!

So, the day has finally come to announce the release of book 2 – Children of Sirphan.

Right off the top I’ll tell you I like this book more than my first. I learnt a lot from publishing my first one but the second one has a stronger story and better character development I find.

That, though, isn’t the challenge I am speaking of.

My laptop of eight years has officially died. It took me through university and two books before it decided to go out with a bang. You can say I burned it out… literally…

As I was sitting down yesterday, (December 19th), getting ready to set things up for a smooth launch my laptop had other plans. Within seconds of leaving it on my father-in-law’s couch Mr. Canuck smelt something burning… and well… it wasn’t long before my laptop ended up outside in the snow. Turns out the connection wire burnt out causing all the smoke to happen and the screen to die. I was also lucky to have back ups of the laptop on either online storage or other devices. That meant I was a little behind but not enough to delay the release today!

So, without further delay I want to introduce to you my second book – Children of Sirphan – which is now available for purchase on SMASHWORDS and AMAZON for ebook online. The price for the ebook is $2.99 USD and $3.99 CAD.

Paperback versions will be available closer to the summer as I want to add some special things to the paperback that you won’t be getting with the ebook, (like images for chapter headings and section headings).

If you wish to purchase the newest book of the P6 Series click the links below to be teleported to the shop of your choice. If you have any questions leave them in the comments down below and I will answer them as soon as I can.

Until next time be creative, stay safe, and as always Toodles! ^.^

UPDATE: Release Date, Official Site & Special Offer

Hello Everyone,

I am hopefully going to post a monthly update from now on. I aim to release these updates the first of every month to let you know about upcoming posts, information pertaining to the Prophecy Six Series, changes in the schedule, and you know… some special offers that you may be interested in, (like at the bottom of this post…)

So, let’s get started:

Upcoming Posts!

As some of you have noticed I have started posting some recipes and my photography on this blog. My goal is to turn Prophecy Six Blog into a place where I can share all my hobbies with you such as my cooking, photography, and DIY projects along with keeping it as a hub for my sharing my writing.

With work and managing several sites online I found it was time to accumulate everything into one ‘mega’ blog in hopes that some of you are interested in what I have to post.

Another series I’m hoping to bring back is Prompts, which I aim to put out every Monday.

The Schedule I have planned is:

MondayWriting, Dialogue, or Character Prompts

Tuesday – Photography, recipe, or DIY

Wednesday – Prophecy Six Focused (Character build, themes, images, book bits).

ThursdayThinking Thursdays

FridayOld Word Friday

Saturday + Sunday – Recovery Days or Special Announcement Days

And yes, before you say it, I know I’m crazy… but that’s part of being a writer.

Prophecy Six Series Announcement:

Today marks only 20 days until book two – Children of Sirphan – is released. I’m so excited I’m just jumping with glee.

As the book is being released I have made some major changes to the Official Book site. Such as:

Updated the About Author’s Page, Layout of the Website, Organization of the site, and Character’s of the Series Pages.

What I have recently added to the site are new location information, information pertaining to the Gods, what the series is about, a contact page, and a subscription page.

Why should you subscribe?
Because the first 50 subscribers it a free e-book version of the second book! I will go into detail about this closer to the release date but you can go to the site now, sign up and you would have reserved a free copy of Children of Sirphan. Subscribers also get updated once month about special events and offers before those who aren’t subscribed, meaning you’re more likely to get the offers before they run out. I’d sign up if I wasn’t the moderator. XD

Anyways, I think I’m done for now. I will be posting another update on December 10th, so keep your eyes peeled for that. Until next time stay safe, get creative, and as always toodles! ^.^

Thinking Thursdays: What’s my goal?

Hi ya’ll!

When it comes to writing we usually have a goal in mind. We want to be signed on with a big publishing company, we want to self-publish, we what to speak at conferences, or we want to build a supportive online community. Whatever your goal is the main point is you have a goal.

At the start of this journey I had no idea where I was going to end up but I did have a set of goals I wanted to reach. I wanted to grow my followers on my blog, I wanted to self-publish my first book in under a year, and I wanted to sell at least 100 copies of my first book. With the help of all of you I was able to reach these goals and in turn exceed them.

Now, as I approach the release date of Children of Sirphan (Dec 20th, 2016) I am reviewing the goals I set.

  1. Finish my second book
  2. Sell 200 copies
  3. Grow my followers on my blog more
  4. Take on a new challenge
  5. Create a professional author’s site

Well, I have finished book 2 and it awaits to be published and at the moment I can’t sell any of my books because they have not been released. I have also been growing my followers – where I’m almost at 700 which is fracking amazing – thank you, everyone!!

As for the challenge I have one idea up my sleeve. One is trying to get my YouTube channel up and running but it is figuring out what I want to talk about that’s the problem. I’m open to any suggestions if you have any. Type them in the comments down below!

I was able to create a author site though, and I have to say I’m quite proud of it. My favourite part is the header randomizes each time you reload a page. It’s the small details that really get me. You’re welcome to check it out if you wish, the link is right HERE.

It looks like I’ll have to make more goals for 2017… but right now I just need to focus on getting everything ready for Christmas.

Now, I pass the questions onto you. What are your goals for the New Year? Did you reach the goals you set for this year? Tell me in the comment section down below.

Until next time stay safe, be creative and as always toodles!

1 Month Until Children of Sirphan is Released!

Hello World Out There World!

As you can tell from the title I have exciting news. Children of Sirphan, the second book of the Prophecy Six Series, is being released 1 month from today – December 20th, 2016. I am so pumped to be able to add a second book to the collection and I hope all of you are excited to continue following Liora on her adventures!

With that said I want to give you a little information about Children of Sirphan:

Children of Sirphan follows Liora learning more about her powers and about the Prophecy Six. She soon discovers that she isn’t the only one with powers and that there are five others chosen by the Gods. As she is the first of the Six it is up to her to find them and help them understand/ control their new abilities.

While learning more about her role as the Six’s leader, and fighting with guardians on how she is to act within the Castle of Demor, Liora begins having dreams of a white haired girl standing on a rocky shoreline being swallowed by a flood. Plagued by her dreams and trying to remember/ recover from her own trauma of losing her people Liora is determined to find the answers through finding the strange girl and discovering why she continues to haunt Liora’s mind.

A mystery wrapped in a world of fantasy, approaching social issues in a creative manner with lighthearted/ realistic characters. Find the first chapter of Children of Sirphan HERE.

Today I Published a Book

testingthis

Twelve years ago I started on a journey that many take and few complete.

Twelve years ago, I opened a notebook and stared blankly at those lined pages unsure what to do or what to write. After putting my pencil to paper, and listing ideas down a story started to form and a world began to grow from my words. I created characters that made me laugh, cry, get angry… I learned how to write from writing.

When I put my pen to paper I couldn’t stop. The writing bug had bit me and every moment of every day was consumed by escaping into those lined pages. I spent nights writing to the light of my night-light. I was scolded by my teachers for working on my ‘project’ instead of their assignments.

Writing helped me find people who loved the written word as much as I. Writing gave me teachers that pushed me to do my best and taught me where I could improve. Some of the best advice about life I got from those who taught me to write.

And sure… I had my bad moments with writing as well. I had moments I wanted to give up. There were moments I believed I was never going to be good enough… or would ever have anyone read my story. I was convinced my writing was the worst in the world, and that I was a failure in my craft. There was even a moment in my life that the passion I had as a child died… leaving me staring blankly at the pages with long apathetic sighs. The longer I stared at the pages the more I withdrew… the more it became work…

But somehow in some way it returned to me and here I am writing again.

Twelve years of typos, scratched ideas, sleepless nights, and apathetic sighs. Twelve years of cramped hands, broken pens, spilt coffees, and missing notebooks. Years of lost files, computer crashes, and research…

Twelve years and I can say I did it. All that had work and time I spent writing has finally brought me to this part in my journey. This – of course – isn’t the end of my writing… it is only the beginning but at least I can say something that my 12-year-old self always dreamed of saying.

I – Deanna Wiltshire – have finally published a book.

UPDATE: BOOK RELEASE!

002(184)

OH GODS! OH GODS! OH GODS!OH GODS! OH GODS! OH GODS! OH GODS! OH GODS! OH GODS! OH GODS! OH GODS! OH GODS! OH GODS! OH GODS! OH GODS! OH GODS! OH GODS! OH GODS! OH GODS! OH GODS! OH GODS! OH GODS! OH GODS! OH GODS!OH GODS! OH GODS! OH GODS! OH GODS!

Okay… now that that is out of my system….

The title of this Update says Book Release, and that would mean that now my book is released…

Good news! It’s released, and can be found in e-book form on Amazon. 🙂

REALLY GREAT NEWS! I know I’d say the paperback would be a while longer… but I lied. I’m sorry! Lying is bad I know that but this was the first time I’ve done this so I’m just learning the ropes. The reason why this is really good news though is that the paperback is available on CreateSpace. Those of you that like to order from Amazon will be able to get the paperback off their site in 3-5 days. I’ll do another update when I find out about that. 🙂

Now onto the money.

Depending on where you live it will vary but the major two US and CA I will cover.

E-Book:

Right now for the US this version will cost 0.71c due to some marketing thing they have going.

For the Canadian side, sorry we are not cool enough for marketing or promoting price decreases so it will cost you 0.99c. So, you have a choice to get a small coffee at Tim Hortons or my book. Choose wisely. 😛

Paperbacks:

The paperback book on CreateSpace will cost you 9.99.

I do not know what they will be for Amazon as of yet but I will post an update for that in the future when I get that information. 🙂

AND so… that’s all I have for now….

I just want to thank all of you for sticking by me through this awesome six month journey. You have all been wonderful to talk to, learn from, and read about. It’s your support that kept this thing going and without you I don’t think this would have ever gotten to the point of publication.

With that said, this is not the end. Child of the Light is only the first book in the P6 series and there is a long journey to the end. I look forward to posting more blogs in the future and hearing from you in regards to the second books creation but right now I think I’m going to hermit from the world and recover from this roller-coaster for a little while. XD

Thanks again for everything guys and please let me know what you think in the comments below.

Toodles,

DMWiltshire
