World of Gaitan: The Fellowship of Flesh

In the world of Gaitan there are many diverse and wondrous things; one of which are the fascinating groups. This week we will be showing you a quote from the official lore website about the group called The Fellowship of Flesh:

The Fellowship of Flesh is a group commonly known as specializing in medical advancement found in the University of La’reen. There of course are two secs, one of which gets little attention in fear of what the public would say. This second unknown group is the Brotherhood of Flesh in the Temple of Chaos found in the Southern Capital of Syder. Both groups originated in the Temple of Chaos about 2000 years before the present day. Their focus was the create preventative medicines due to overpopulation and long-term exposure to the battlefront. It was about 1260 years before the present day that the Fellowship split in two – one moving to La’reen (Fellowship of Flesh) and one staying hidden within the Temple (Brotherhood of Flesh). With La’reen’s drive for peace and dedication for the betterment of Gaitan they continued to focus on ways to improve the lives of those around them. They permitted those desiring to specialize in medicine to come to the city no matter their background – Dermite, Chijin, Mix Breed, or what have you. This was the birth of a new University in the South allowing for a united education system, which was the first of it’s kind.

World of Gaitan: The Hanging Boatmen

As many of you know I have an official lore site for my book series – Prophecy Six – where I write extra information about the cities, peoples, and histories of the world the series takes place in. You get to learn about the characters mentioned in the series and the creatures which are unique to Gaitan, along with some hints to things not yet mentioned in the books published so far. One of these groups is ‘The Hanging Boatmen’, who will be introduced in the third book – Sons of Lost Kings.

I thought I’d share a little bit about this group and link to the full description found on the official site if anyone is interested in reading more. Enjoy!

Hanging Boatmen is a group of Dermite bandits and thieves that raid the waterways between Derlin (Derm’s Capital) and King’s Port. They are believed to be responsible for the majority of the crime within the capital city and have claimed several heinous actions such as setting fire to the logging camps near Bay’s Lake, the hanging/plundering/burning of several shipping vessels within the shipping channel, raiding the armoury in the lower district of the capital city, and the kidnapping/murder of Lieutenant Rowel Brickton of the Gryphon Guard’s wife and daughters.

Book Two Is Out And It Wasn’t Without Its Challenges

Hello World!

So, the day has finally come to announce the release of book 2 – Children of Sirphan.

Right off the top I’ll tell you I like this book more than my first. I learnt a lot from publishing my first one but the second one has a stronger story and better character development I find.

That, though, isn’t the challenge I am speaking of.

My laptop of eight years has officially died. It took me through university and two books before it decided to go out with a bang. You can say I burned it out… literally…

As I was sitting down yesterday, (December 19th), getting ready to set things up for a smooth launch my laptop had other plans. Within seconds of leaving it on my father-in-law’s couch Mr. Canuck smelt something burning… and well… it wasn’t long before my laptop ended up outside in the snow. Turns out the connection wire burnt out causing all the smoke to happen and the screen to die. I was also lucky to have back ups of the laptop on either online storage or other devices. That meant I was a little behind but not enough to delay the release today!

So, without further delay I want to introduce to you my second book – Children of Sirphan – which is now available for purchase on SMASHWORDS and AMAZON for ebook online. The price for the ebook is $2.99 USD and $3.99 CAD.

Paperback versions will be available closer to the summer as I want to add some special things to the paperback that you won’t be getting with the ebook, (like images for chapter headings and section headings).

If you wish to purchase the newest book of the P6 Series click the links below to be teleported to the shop of your choice. If you have any questions leave them in the comments down below and I will answer them as soon as I can.

Until next time be creative, stay safe, and as always Toodles! ^.^

Introducing Liora of Morza

As many of you know I posted a Character Build for Liora last week. It was around this time I came across a young artist named Masha while I was exploring DeviantArt for world building inspiration. It just so happened Masha was open for commissions and after exploring her amazing work I decided I’d take the chance and see what she could do for me.

I sent her the Character Build for Liora, gave her some other details to add and a week later she came back with the most amazing image I could have ever imagined.

May I introduce to you, Liora of Morza:

liora-of-morza

Isn’t she amazing! She is just as I pictured she’d be… and there is so much detail – like the scar on her neck or the pattern of the earring and the latches to the book. Oh, man I have to stop or I will go on and one about this picture…

Anywho, I wanted to share this with you all as I thought some of you would love to see her. In the future I hope to work with Masha again for concepts for all my other characters but I need to start selling paid books before I can do that. XD

If you want to check out Masha’s other art pieces, (and I suggest you do because she is incredibly talented), CLICK HERE.

Until next time stay safe, be creative, and as always – Toodles! ^.^

Update: Child of the Light Smashwords Reaches 100 Downloads!

Firstly, all of you who have supported me throughout this process are amazing. Your support, suggestions, and comments make me look forward to posting on this blog.

With that said, I want to announce that book 1 of the Prophecy Six series has reached 100 downloads on Smashwords!reached101

I know 100 isn’t a big number but I’m so excited that my book has gotten this many downloads with so little marketing. Marketing isn’t my strong suit – being an introvert with a self-doubting complex doesn’t help – but wow! Wow! 100 downloads…

Well damn… I’m happy with that.

Anyways, Child of the Light is still FREE on Smashwords – so don’t be afraid to check it out if you haven’t already. If you have, you’re amazing and fantastic and thank you so much for taking the time to download this!

Without you – my readers and followers – Prophecy Six wouldn’t be as fun to work on. Again, thank you. 🙂

Snippet of Book 2: Missing Her Homeland

The book rested heavily on her lap while she flipped the pages revealing the pictures drawn by the talented hands of her people. Caldor had come by her room in the morning with a trolley full of books. The old sage had heard about the strongly worded discussion she had had with the Steward the day prior. Caldor hadn’t asked her about it and she was happy he didn’t try to fix it with one of his antidotal sayings or matter-of-fact statements.

Caldor had done what Caldor usually did in situations that were beyond his emotional comprehension. He found books that related to the subject and gave them to her to study. He assumed with the comparisons she had made to her people that she was missing Morza, and as a result he had collected every Morzi text he could find.

His method of trying to mend her melancholy appeared to be working. Having the chance to read through the collection of Morzi texts, Liora couldn’t help but feel the connection she had been missing. These books helped her remember her time in the mountains. She missed the mountain city, and the people there. She missed their common language and traditions.

If Morza had survived the massacre they would have been preparing the gardens and shrine. The hunters would be setting their traps, Naygu would have made a list on the herbs she needed restocked, and Rebin – the Warden – would have been preparing for the assigning of the new dragons.

Liora missed those parts of her life, and the simplicity of her people’s lifestyle. She missed the music, the food, and closeness.

The Dermite were different. They were one people but lived separately. Families were small units like Foe, Marcia, and Druce. Family wasn’t the whole community. Everyone had separate jobs or roles here. In Morza everyone shared the tasks to make things run smoothly no matter who they were.
